Getting or being pregnant healthy - what can I do about it?

Age, occupational stress or a previously unknown disease can influence fertility and prevent a successful pregnancy. For gynaecologists and reproductive medicine specialists, the laboratory is indispensable for researching the causes.

Expectant parents want the best for their child and want it to be born healthy. Thanks to modern medicine, risks can often be identified and treated at an early stage. Medical prenatal care is regulated by maternity guidelines. They include numerous examinations and offer a high level of safety. In addition to the services required by law, there are further tests in our laboratories which can be individually useful for the pregnant woman. For example, the search for certain infectious agents that endanger a child during or immediately after pregnancy. We also offer genetic tests, such as the non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) or amniocentesis. You will find all our tests in the list of analyses. Please contact us if you have any questions about these or other laboratory tests.

Thyroid gland and desire for children

The thyroid and sex hormones are closely linked and influence each other. Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) or overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) can also be responsible for a lack of pregnancy. A blood test of the most important thyroid hormones provides information. The levels should also be checked regularly during pregnancy, as the requirement for thyroid hormones can double during this period. A balanced thyroid function is important for the development of the child. Contact us.

Unfulfilled desire to have children

Apart from a thyroid gland disorder, there are other causes for an unfulfilled desire to have children, which we can examine in the laboratory: A tendency to thrombosis, the overproduction of male sex hormones and unknown genetic changes in men and women can have a negative influence on the planning of fertility. Which tests are useful depends on the individual case. We will gladly answer your questions.
